Fleeing LTTE cadres complain of heightened Tiger atrocities
JAFFNA: The incidents of child recruitment and forcible conscription are on the rise in the Wanni and is getting worse with each passing day, a Sea Tiger escapee told the Daily News.
Following an appeal by Security Forces to LTTE cadres to surrender with the promise of transforming their lives, around 54 Tiger cadres including Sea Tiger cadres and sympathisers had given themselves up at the Rehabilitation Centre in Jaffna during the last three months.
The Rehabilitation Centre was established in 1995 for LTTE surrendees but this was disrupted due to the continuing conflict in the Northern front. The Security Forces once again reactivated the Centre in February and placed in direct charge under the Presidential Secretariat.

Jaffna (PTI): The LTTE militants and sympathisers who have surrendered are putting pressure on the Sri Lankan government to arrange for overseas jobs for them, fearing assassination at the hands of the Tamil Tigers for having deserted the outfit.
"We always fear for our life by the LTTE though we have been put up in well guarded buildings," the former LTTE activists told a group of journalists here recently.
One of them even threatened to commit suicide if he was not sent out of the camp soon for a job abroad. "My family is managing by selling our remaining ornaments. We cannot last long. I have seven dependents. If I am not given an overseas job along with a air ticket you may find me hanging," a former Tiger rebel said.
According to officials some of them were in a mentally disturbed state, after having worked under tough and hostile conditions for the Tigers. Some of the former LTTE sympathisers in the camp who interacted with the reporters also desired to go abroad quickly so that they could settle down. The government is arranging for an employment orientation programme for the 54 surrendered activists, a senior military official said, adding, "this would include courses of motor mechanics and other jobs".
A committee under the supervision of the President's office will be monitoring the programme for providing foreign jobs for the surrendered LTTE activists, an official said. The funds are also being arranged for training purposes, the official said adding the tenure of the orientation would vary from six months to one year.

TAMIL TIGERS KILL TAMIL CATHOLIC MODERATE
TAMIL terrorist tigers have claimed another moderate in a suicide bombing. This time it is Jeyaraj Fernandopulle who had staunchly stood opposed to tamil tiger terrorism and had been on their hit list for a while.
News reports originating from Sri Lanka indicate a warning by a foreign intelligence agency about the possibility of a strike against the minister by two tamil tiger suicide bombers spotted in the vicinity.

Rayappu Joseph and his band of Tamil terrorist supporters have launched their own agenda of creating a 'Catholic nation' out of the already failed concept of a mono-ethnic Eelam. The basic idea is a nation in which only Tamil speaking Catholics will be allowed to live in, under rule by fear.
Sri Lanka has been treading softly and cautiously around the issue to avoid a confrontation with the Vatican, which weilds more power than most nations on earth. Nevertheless a catalytic event is looming on this front, as the result of a gradual build up towards an eventual religious confrontation as a result of Bishop Rayappu Joseph's actions. Sri Lanka needs to step out of its apprehensions and deal firmly with this terrorist in a cassock.

LTTE THROWING AWAY BODIES OF ITS DEAD CADRES
COLOMBO: Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara Thursday said that the LTTE was now disposing of the bodies of their cadres killed in battle without handing them over to the parents."The depleted LTTE is adopting this ruse because a large number of Tiger cadres have been killed in confrontations with the security forces and if their bodies were handed over to the parents or their families, as in the past it would hamper their recruitment drive," he said.
During the past few weeks the troops recovered a large number of decomposed bodies of LTTE cadres thrown into the jungles after they died in battle, he said.

SRI LANKA REHBILITATES TAMIL TIGER SURRENDEES
COLOMBO: According to a report we carried in our inside pages yesterday 44 ex-LTTE combatants who are undergoing rehabilitation at a centre in Tellipalai, Jaffna are in high spirits and happy with their treatment. Included in the programme are visits by religious leaders to the Centre for counselling and other measures to induct them into a livelihood that would one day enable them to enter society and be accepted as worthy citizens. While it may take time for these once hardcore LTTE fighters to shake themselves off their brutalised psyche the effort is a truly worthy exercise given that these unfortunate youth had no say or choice in their predicament. According to the report these hapless youth were following the diktats of the senior LTTE cadres under pain of death. There maybe many others of their ilk who are similarly trapped and waiting for an opportunity to break free. The recent spate of defections by LTTE child soldiers is a clear indication of this that also provides a sample of the life behind the iron curtain.

Sri Lanka
The 2002 cease-fire between the Sri Lankan government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, continued to erode amidst numerous violations and escalating military engagement between the LTTE and government security forces. The Sri Lankan Army remained deployed across the country to fight the insurgency. The paramilitary Special Task Force (STF) police were deployed both in the east and in strategic locations in the west.
The LTTE conducted a campaign of targeted assassinations against political and military opponents. This included the April assassination attempt of Sri Lanka Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka and the assassination of the Army Third-in-Command; the August 12 assassination of the Government of Sri Lanka's Secretariat for the Coordination of the Peace Process, Deputy Director Keteshwaran Loganathan; and the December 1 suicide bomber's attempt on the life of Defense Secretary Gothabaya Rajapaksa, the President's brother. The Karuna faction, a dissident faction of the LTTE, conducted its own assassination campaign against the LTTE and pro-LTTE civilians in the east.
Following the assassination of Foreign Minister Kadirgamar in August 2005, the government enacted emergency regulations giving arrest power to members of the armed forces, who were required to turn suspects over to the police within 24 hours. Individuals arrested under the emergency regulations may be detained for up to one year. Under these regulations, 148 persons were arrested; most have already been released. A revised Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA), enacted in December, strengthened these powers.
The LTTE financed itself with contributions from the Tamil Diaspora in North America, Europe, and Australia, and by imposing local "taxes" on businesses operating in the areas of Sri Lanka under its control. Using this money, LTTE weapons were purchased on the international black market or captured from the Sri Lankan Army. Many LTTE innovations, such as explosive belts, vests, and bras, using female suicide bombers, and waterborne suicide attacks against ships, have been copied by other terrorist groups.
In general, the LTTE did not target U.S. citizens or assets, limiting attacks to Sri Lankan security forces, political figures, civilians, and businesses. However, two suicide bomb attacks on VIP motorcades in Colombo occurred within half a mile of the U.S. embassy on roads frequently traveled by Embassy employees.
Sri Lankan cooperation with the FBI has resulted in arrests of persons charged with material support to terrorist groups. The Sri Lankan government cooperated with U.S. efforts to track terrorist financing, although no assets were identified. The United States also provided training for relevant Sri Lankan government agencies and the banking sector. The government cooperated with the United States to implement both the Container Security Initiative and the Megaports program at the port of Colombo.

TAMIL TIGERS BEGGING FOR FOOD
A young tamil Tiger has been arrested when he approached a civillian residence in the Buddhangala area, gesturing for food. Dressed in typical LTTE camoflage and carrying a T-56 weapon and the usual LTTE paraphanelia, the youth obviously had been without food for a few days and had finally approached the house, upon which he had been arrested and handed over to the police.
Sri Lankans being Sri Lankan, will still treat this guy as a human being should be treated. If the roles had reversed, the outcome would certainly have been different.

A letter home...from a Tamil Tiger
This is a lamentation of a female Tiger cadre Jenny, who died in a recent battle with the Sri Lanka Army in Parapakandal, located in the Mannar district. After her death, letter was recovered from her.
The letter reveals the mentality of the female cadre who was recruited forcefully by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam to be a cannon fodder in a meaningless battle which has so far killed more than 20,000 LTTE cadres alone.
In one of the letters found on the body of the female cadre reveals that she did not join the LTTE voluntarily. She was forcefully conscripted. She knew very well that she will never be able to leave the grip of the Tamil Tigers. Her yearnings to be reunited with her father, mother, sisters, brothers and others in the family did not materialize.
"When will I be able to get out of this hell? I am not sure whether it might ever happen," she writes with frustration and finality. The letter has been translated verbatim.

I send a latter to Amma. The person who undertook to deliver the letter promised to bring back a reply from Amma. But so far I have not heard anything from that person.
I already send five letters home. Did you receive them? I will send this letter by hand through Suda teacher's Shanthi (English teacher at Pudukudirippu).
I am now at the rear base of Mullikulam in Mannar. The area is always shelled. We use to run to bunkers for safety. When will I be able to get out of this hell? I am not sure whether it might ever happen.
Amma, Appa, Raj ini and all, I always remember you. Don't unnecessarily waste your time thinking about me and fasting without food. If Amma falls sick seriously, inform me. Then they will arrange to show her to me.

Sri Lanka: LTTE Must Halt Recruitment of Child Soldiers
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, LTTE, have long been known for recruiting children to take up arms in their 22-year independence struggle against the Government of Sri Lanka. With a truce in early 2002, many hoped the illegal conscription of minors as child combatants would cease. In the wake of the tsunami, which devastated Tamil majority areas in northern and eastern Sri Lanka, new reports of abductions and missing children have reaffirmed concerns of international human rights organizations of continued recruitment. WOMEN FORCED TO JOIN TAMIL TIGERS
Forced into joining the terror campaign at a tender young age, recruits such as these pose little difficulty to the seasoned terrorist conscriptors task of brain washing them completely into becoming suicide warriors. Deprived of an education and often dignity, forced into sexual servitude to gratify their Tamil Tiger superiors, these women possess little hope of ever being able to assimilate into civillian life. Surprisingly none of the vociferous Human Rights Organizations that are ever so quick to chastise the Sri Lankan government on allegations real or imaginary, ever speak up enough for these unfortunates. In Tamil Tiger dominated Vanni, a head start for your child is a training camp for suicide bombers...

Many of the young lasses shown here by now have been physically and sexually abused by the Tamil Tigers into a mental state of self-abhorrance, a psychological state which makes them ideal for suicide terrorism. Gang rape often precedes the indoctrination phase, and the Tamil tiger heirarchy often are entrusted with the priviledge of deflowering the virgin recruits.
Predominantly Hindu tamil culture requires women to prove their virginity on the wedding night to be considered worthy spouses. For these girls, life is over, and suicide offers a convenient way out of that reality.
Women are being forced into joining the LTTE, and are homesick, according to letters purportedly recovered from slain woman militants in Sri Lanka. "Every LTTE cadre is anxious to see his or her parents and I will come home for pongal (festival) though I do not know what my fate will be," said one letter recovered by security forces from a slain woman militant.
"Amma, what can I do? When all those at home in the area were taken away, I too had to go with them (LTTE)," said the letter, which was released by the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) to the media. The letter, written in Tamil, with small portions in English, said "every fighter cries 'Amma' and 'Appa' at the time of their heroic death. They are all anxious to see their mothers." The militant said the cadres had to crawl to bring food and water in the front lines amidst the firing of mortars in the restive northern plains. "Amma, please reply (to) every letter which I send. I hope for a reply on the same day itself -- your loving daughter Daya Nagai Nila."
Another militant said she was forced to join the LTTE by her parents in spite of her objections. "Vijee now I am in Manalaru (Welioya in Jaffna) where clashes erupt very often. Many of my good friends perished in the attacks. Attacks take place everyday, I am not sure of my life. Death may come to us today or tomorrow," she wrote. The woman said her parents had to "hand me over to the organisation (LTTE) in spite of my objections. What else can I do here other than dying?"

VANNI MONKEY BURNS HIS ASS AND DIES
I could not stop laughing over this article; an idiot from a certain Sri Lankan minority ethnic group that always whines about step-motherly treatment, burnt his sorry ass into char-coal, attempting to imitate 'Hanuman' the monkey-king of hindu scripture.
Hanuman is said to have led an army of monkeys against Sri Lankan king Ravana. With his tail on fire, Hanuman the ape king is said to have set many cities in Sri Lanka on fire...or so the story goes. In true south Indian style the story discounts the importance of the technological advances said to have been possessed by the Sri Lankan king Ravana, including a winged flying machine.
Anyway, here the hilarious story.....

Kanapathi Rajah, dressed as the monkey-god during performance of the episodes of 'Ramayana', set a tail attached to his attire ablaze, but the flames swept fast and spread all over his body.
The incident took place at a temple in the hilly Kandy region on the Thaipongal Day last week.
Rajah was rushed to a hospital in Nawalapitiya, about 120 kms from Colombo, with severe burns, but succumbed to his injuries after two days of treatment, media reported here..."

Hillary Clinton receiving funding from a well-known foreign terrorist organization (the LTTE)
We are writing to you to bring to your attention a very serious development regarding the 2007-08 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. Please find attached relevant articles for your information and we would be pleased to e-mail you additional supporting documents at your request.
We have learned that the Hillary Clinton campaign is receiving funding/support from a well known terrorist organization (the LTTE) based in Sri Lanka - in exchange for her support in getting the LTTE US ban lifted and achieving their illegal claim for an independent state in Sri Lanka. The LTTE is banned in many countries, including the US, UK, Canada, EU, India, etc. (see attached documents)
Ram Ranjan is mentioned in the first article as one of the major fund raisers for Hillary Clinton in NJ. Ranjan is a well known LTTE/TRO member who has been lobbying/influencing US politicians for decades. Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO), a front organization of the LTTE was banned in the US on 17 Nov. 2007. But years before the banning the TRO was under investigation by the US State Dept.
The Clinton fund-raising website with Ram Ranjan's name is also included (Doc name: HillaryWebsitewithName.doc - attached).
Interestingly, the website has deleted the names of hosts since articles exposing Ram Ranjan's connection to Hillary Clinton campaign appeared in the news! Also ironic is that the glowing articles on Hillary Clinton which appeared in the LTTE website, tamilnet, have also disappeared since the Ram Ranjan story appeared on the internet!
Ram Ranjan is one of the main organizers of the annual LTTE Heroes Day convened in New Jersey (& elsewhere in the Western world). The Heroes Day event is convened to give maximum publicity to the Tamil Tiger terrorists and illegally raise funds for their terrorist activities in Sri Lanka around the world. These events are closely monitored by the FBI (and London Police in the UK).
[A British MP (Keith Vaz, originally from South India) is currently under investigation by the London Police for his participation in the 2007 LTTE Heroes Day event held in London in December.
The FBI has information on Ram Ranjan's participation in the 2006 Heroes Day in New Jersey. They also have information on his participation in the 2007 Heroes Day event. Ranjan is under FBI surveillance].

As you know, Alison Mitchell of the NYTimes wrote an article on Al Gore receiving funds from a Taiwanese group based on LA in the 1997 campaign. This article appeared in the front page of the NYTimes.
But, in this case, Hillary Clinton is receiving funding from one of the most brutal and ruthless terrorist organizations in the world. This should be reported as no presidential candidate should ever have any dealings with terrorists. They have been designated as such by the US State Dept (in 1997 by the then president Bill Clinton)
Hillary Clinton's timely statement on 24 Oct. 2007, on the LTTE (attached), stating that this terrorist group has a special status, is an obvious example of a close between her and this terrorist group. The LTTE makes a net profit of US$ 200 to US$ 300 million a year.
Could we say that this is blood money that's given to US presidential candidates by known terrorist organizations in exchange for political favors?. Could it be that the Hillary Campaign is not fully aware that it is the LTTE which is funding her campaign? LTTE has engaged in this type of lobbying for decades in the US and other Western countries.
We would be grateful of you would bring this matter to the attention of the American public as they deserve to know the truth.

In testimony before the European Parliament, Charu Hogg, representing Human Rights Watch, an independent human rights monitor, says the Tamil Tigers have “forcibly recruited for combat boys, girls, men and women.” The insurgent group, said Ms. Hogg, “continues to murder its political opponents, largely in the Tamil community, and runs a near totalitarian state in the areas of the country’s north and east under its control.”

TAMIL TIGERS CONTINUE TO CONSCRIPT CHILD COMBATANTS
Forcibly conscripted under-age combatants undergo arms training in an undisclosed Tamil Tiger training camp. The Sri Lankan Air Force attacked a training such as this a few months ago, killing approx 60 conscripts. The international media and human rights circus went wild attempting to define the attack as a human rights violation by the government.
Whether forcibly or not, once made to bear arms for a terrorist outfit, even innocents become legitimate targets to the armed forces that guard the nation against terrorism. Innocents such as these are truly caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.
